tokyobike is a small, independent bicycle company founded in 2002 in the quiet Tokyo suburb of Yanaka. The name was derived from the design of the bikes. In the same way the mountain bike was designed for the mountains so tokyobike was designed for Tokyo.
Based on the concept of ‘Tokyo Slow’ the bikes are designed to be light to ride with an emphasis on comfort over speed. The bike is simply a way to enjoy your city, as much about the journey as the destination.
Gallant Bicycles is a made-to-order bike shop in downtown Toronto started by Jason Wood and Tony Mammoliti. In addition to retailing Orontas in their Bloor St. shop Gallant uses Orontas when assembling their custom bikes right here in Toronto.
Mission Bicycle Company began with a simple premise: Give people the bicycle they want and they’ll ride. To that end, each bike is custom designed by each rider, and then hand built in San Francisco. In addition, Mission Bicycle curates unique and locally made accessories for the city commuter.

Gear Shop Brisbane opened up in January 2009, founded by a dutch national, who found his way to Australia in 2008. Over the last 4 years the shop has grown considerably from stocking just a few completes and frames to stocking over a 12+ completes on rotation, countless frames and parts as well as distributing for Leader Bike USA and Colossi. They have only 23 square metres of floor space and have squeezed stock into every space possible including a fully functioning workshop. What sets Gear Brisbane apart it it stocks a range of street wear and accessories from brands such as Cadence, Chrome SF, Mission Workshop and of course Orontas. The store is literally packed to the rafters with every fixed gear product imaginable from vintage steel frames to newer fixed gear bikes. Gear Brisbane is not your average bike shop.
Formerly a design collective, the Nightshades have spun their upstart, in-your-face brand of fashion into a roving midnight bike gang. Their mission: to fight the evil forces of toxic air-kisses, and stake their claim as the new generation the fashion industry.
ORONTAS: What are the Deadly Nightshades? DEADLY NIGHTSHADES: We’re this enigma of a design collective/bike gang/girls best friend group. We just do our own thing, and we like it that way. Some people think we’re going to be like the Spice Girls where we do everything together exclusively and show up to events at the same time wearing full matching outfits. Not so. We’re definitely more like the Wu-Tang. We’re all independent creative forces that collaborate in various ways and support each other in what we do. Then every now and then we all come together and do something huge together, and we run with our own talented crew of Killa Bees.
(P.S. Wu-tang if you’re reading this… holla at your girls.)
